Hitachi Vantara Leases Entire Building At Santa Clara Square

Another major tech company has signed a large lease at Irvine Co.’s Santa Clara Square in Santa Clara. Hitachi Vantara, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, has leased an entire 222K SF building. The cloud and data solutions provider will relocate from 2845 Lafayette St. to its new headquarters at 2535 Augustine Drive within The Campus @ Santa Clara Square. Hitachi Vantara will join tenants AMD, Ericsson, Cambridge Industries Group and Veritas Technologies.

The new building will be part of the company’s efforts to build its brand and increase its recruitment efforts, according to Hitachi Vantara President and Chief Operating Officer Brian Householder. The new headquarters will have Hitachi’s name on the exterior and will be visible from Highway 101.

Designed by Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, The Campus @ Santa Clara Square features floor-to-ceiling glass for natural light and flexible floor plans. Amenities include The Common, an open-air gathering place with casual workspaces and free WiFi, and two cafés. Employees also have access to a nutrition counselor at Kinetic, which offers fitness and wellness services. Tenants have access to a bike-share program and on-demand transit through a partnership with Lyft.

The Campus @ Santa Clara Square is within walking distance of the 125K SF Santa Clara Square Market Place, which includes a Whole Foods and several restaurants. The entire mixed-use Santa Clara Square development includes 30 acres of open space and parks.

The developer plans to finish the nearby apartment complex by mid-2018. The complex will offer 1,800 luxury units, and amenities include a three-acre park, saltwater pools and inline shops. Another retail development, Santa Clara Square’s Main Street, also will offer 40K SF of retail and services and serve as the community’s town center.
