Facebook Buys Menlo Park Campus For $202M

Facebook has bought its Menlo Park campus for $202M in a deal struck when the company first leased the former Sun Microsystems campus back in 2011.

After five years of leasing at 1 Hacker Way, the company was eligible to buy the 57-acre property, and Facebook took advantage of the opportunity, according to the San Francisco Business Times. The property is across the highway from the company's newest campus at 1 Facebook Way, which we highlighted among 10 super cool corporate headquarters.

While the price was lower than what the campus likely could have fetched in today's market, it marked a considerable return for seller Deutsche Bank, which paid $100M to buy the property from Oracle Corp in 2011 before leasing it to Facebook. [SFBT]
