University of Maryland VP for administration and finance Rob Spectertells us that his office has issued a Requestfor Expressions of Interest(RFEI) to identify a hotel development partner. The University has carved outa premiercampus location, adjacent to Downtown College Park, to develop auniversity-affiliated hotel with meeting anddining space. Response has been strong. Rob says that the right partner will beidentified bysummer, with work moving forward in fall 2013. The plus forthe community: The hotel signifies a renewedcommitment to strengtheningBaltimore Avenue and better connects campus to the Downtown. Tens of thousandsof people come to College Park every year for meetings, research, academicgoals, and recreation. For more infoon our sponsor and the project, click here.
