Pike Place Connector Set for Approval

Placeholder

A Seattle City Council committee approved $34M to connect Pike Place Market to the planned waterfront promenade. In addition to the pedestrian connection, the MarketFront project will include a 300-space parking facility, 30k SF of open public space, 40 units of affordable housing, and new commercial space, including vendor stalls for farmers. The full council will vote on the development agreement with the market's Preservation and Development Authority, and it's expected to pass, noted the Puget Sound Business Journal. The PDA is leading the project in collaboration with the city; the Miller Hull Partnership, SOJ and Sellen Construction are also working on the project. [PSBJ].
