Downtown Dog Lounge, a Seattle-based daycare, boarding and grooming facility for dogs, is preparing to expand to its third location that will cater to Amazon employees. The company just signed a lease with Amazon for 11K SF of space that will be located in a courtyard facility on Amazon’s campus, on Mercer St. near Boren Avenue North. While the new location will offer similar services to the others, it will be focused more towards tech workers by offering longer hours and even dog valet service. Elise Vincentini, CEO and founder of Downtown Dog Lounge, said the company is expanding to respond to demand for all Seattle residents but acknowledged the appeal for teach workers. "I would say tech people are our clients because they work long hours, they’re usually single because they’re working so darn much and they don’t have time to meet people, and they want to know when they go to work or something that their dog is just a text away," Vincentini said. Downtown Dog Lounge was founded in 2002; its other Seattle locations are at 1405 Elliot Ave. W. and 420 E. Denny Way. [BIZ]
