The Return of the Rainier R

Seattle
Placeholder

Snapped at the Old Rainier Brewery in South Seattle: the recent hoisting of a 12-foot R, a replica of the R that was long a fixture in the skyline until it was removed 13 years ago. The Seattle sign company Western Neon produced the new R on behalf of Rainier Beer and Columbia Distributing. The new letter isn't exactly like the old one: true to 21st-century tech, it's lighted by 470 LED bulbs, but it will be just as visible from I-5 as the old one used to be (and when Commissioner Gordon wants to have a beer with Batman, this is what it'll look like).
