IT'S THE BOMB
Yes, that's a picture of a tree wearing a scarf. Only in Seattle would you find people who bundle up trees for the winter, or so it seems to us. But these colorful knit tree scarves are the creations of artist Suzanne Tidwell, part of an installation known as Artificial Light(we prefer the Internet term for it, which is "yarn bombing"). With city approval, Suzanne yarn-bombed several trees in Pioneer Square last year (above is City Hall Park, with the King County Courthouse in the background). What's next for Suzanne and her knitting needles? Redmond, she tells us. Look out, Microsoft.
