Harbor Properties, Urban Partners Merge
Deal of the week: Earlier this week LA-based Urban Partners announced it had bought well-known developer Harbor Properties for an unannounced price and created a new entity, Harbor Urban.Yesterday came the news that they'll be partnering with AREA Properties to complete Harbor's existing projects. Those include GreenHouse, a market rate apartment complex in Columbia City; Nova, a multifamily project in West Seattle, and Alto (above), an all-but-done 184-unit apartment tower in Belltown. Urban Partners, meanwhile, did Aspira in the Denny Triangle. Harbor Properties, founded by Stimson Bullitt in 1972, is best known for the luxury high-rise Harbor Steps, but with Alto, it seems to be invoking a musical theme, especialy with Starship's "We Built This City" on its website.
