4 CRE Summer Vacations
You know summer's reaching its zenith in Seattle when the thermometer climbs past 60 degrees. At various events around town these past few weeks, we've been asking execs what they're looking forward to most during the warmer months. Here's what they said:
Griffin MacLaine's Paul Dent and Capital Financial's Gary Hunter at the Seattle Yacht Club.
1. FORE! Here's Griffin MacLaine's Paul Dent and CCIM president-elect Gary Hunter of Capital Financial. Paul is bound for Lake Chelan with his family and "excited to get away for a couple of weeks." Gary is looking forward to hitting the water on his boat for some crabbing and fishing. Paul's also excited for the CBA/CCIM Golf Tournament July 17 at The Golf Club at Redmond Ridge. Our question: If your company sponsors the event, do you get strokes off?
Jones Lang LaSalle's Bob Stoneman and Amgen's Gregg Rio at the BOMA International Conference at the Convention Center.
2. THE GREAT AMERICAN PASTIME. "When it gets here, I'm looking forward to watching a baseball game in the sunshine," Jones Lang LaSalle's Bob Stoneman (pictured here with Amgen's Gregg Rio) told us last week at the BOMA International Conference at the Convention Center. Bob is a Mariners fan, of course (even with the season he's having, who doesn't love Ichiro?), but he enjoys going to his son's games the most: "Any baseball, really."
Michael Armanious at the BOMA International party at the Museum of Flight last week.
3. FLYING, EVEN IF YOU CAN'T GET AWAY. We ran into Keller Williams's Michael Armanious at the BOMA International party at the Museum of Flight last week. Michael loves the musuem but most enjoys showing it off to people who haven't seen it. His favorite plane? The 1964 Lockheed D-21 B drone, which hangs in the great gallery behind him. "That thing goes 2,000 miles an hour," he informed us. "Or at least, it used to."
The Shakespeare Festivial in Ashland, Ore.
4. ASHLAND. Hendricks & Partners Robert Di Pietrae tells us he's looking forward to attending the annual Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Ore. Robert attended with his family last year, and he's headed back in August. (We asked Robert to recite us a few lines from Macbeth, but he told us he's still polishing the monologues.) Above, Ashland's magnificent Elizabethan outdoor stage.
