Seattle An Up-And-Coming Favorite Among Investors

Seattle advanced to the No. 6 spot on this year’s list of best metros for investment, up a notch from last year, according to the CBRE Americas Investor Intentions Survey 2017. Overall, CRE investors seem a bit more optimistic than last year, because of the prospect of increased U.S. economic growth, along with the promise of less regulation.

Gateway markets still dominate the upper reaches of the list, with LA, New York and Washington at No. 1, 3 and 4, respectively. Up-and-comers like Dallas (No. 2) and Atlanta (No. 5, tied with San Francisco) are also high on the list.

The 2017 survey found investors will remain actively engaged in real estate investment this year, with a two-thirds majority (67%) intending to be net buyers. The percentage of net buyers has increased since 2015 (60%) and 2016 (65%). The vast majority of investors (83%) intend to maintain or increase their purchasing activity in 2017.
