Food/tech startup Habit has found a new home in Oakland’s Jack London Square after outgrowing its incubator space housing 40 employees in Emeryville. Habit is one of many new startups turning to Oakland.

Habit, which plans to launch in 2017, recently raised $32M through an investment from Campbell’s Soup. Habit combines nutrition, science and technology to create customized meals based on a consumer's biology.

Habit’s new 31,171 SF headquarters at 985 3rd St is within an office/industrial flex building. It will be divided into 21k SF of collaborative office space with an additional 10k SF industrial to be converted into a commercial kitchen. The company already moved into some of the office space and is building the commercial kitchen and headquarters facility.

The concrete-and-glass converted warehouse is part of the 200k SF Embarcadero West owned by Duwo Partners. Cushman & Wakefield SVP Barry Cohn and VP David Englert repped the landlord. Cushman & Wakefield’s David, managing director Brian Foster and VP Adan Martinez repped the tenant.
