Investors Sideline Offer To Buy Coliseum

The plot to keep the Raiders in Oakland thickens. Stadium Real Estate Partners, which proposed $167M to buy the Coliseum, Oracle Arena and the surrounding land, has withdrawn its offer. Among the reasons given was City of Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf's initial comment to the East Bay Times stating Oakland would not consider the offer and the city is “committed to a team-centered development.”

Meanwhile, Nevada is moving forward with its plans. Nevada governor Brian Sandoval said he would like a special meeting with the state legislature in mid-October to discuss the potential Las Vegas Raiders stadium. The Southern Nevada Tourism Infrastructure Committee already approved $750M in funds for the new stadium. [EBT]
