Tishman Speyer's Transbay Tower Closer To Height Increase Approval

The 400-foot Transbay tower Tishman Speyer hopes to plant at the corner of Folsom and Spear passed its first hurdle toward approval and getting the 100-foot increase in height limits the project would need to proceed.

This week, the city's Commission on Community Investment and Infrastructure approved sending the project to the city's planning commission in March, its next stop before the Board of Supervisors, according to Curbed. The project has faced community opposition.

At 400 feet high, the tower would house 390 condos (159 of those, or 40%, below market rate). Tishman Speyer also plans to subsidize homeowner association dues over $850 for residents in those below-market rate units who make up 80% of the area's median income. [Curbed]
