What You Do After A Sell-Out

The Bond, a 40-unit condominium in Jack London Square just sold its last home. To celebrate, it held a benefit reception co-sponsored by developer Bond Street Advisors and Polaris Pacific. The event raised nearly $40,000 for S.F.-based Worldreader, a nonprofit that sends Kindles and e-readers to emerging countries. The close-out of a successful property is the right time for an event like this, says Polaris Pacific principal Paul Zeger. Bond Street Advisors CEO Mike Reynolds (left) says giving back is part of the job for a company like his, born and bred in the Bay Area. He's joined by Worldreader director of development Susan Moody and founder/CEO David Risher.

David explains the organization’s great impact in improving literacy and economic conditions for families in Africa. Worldreader is about books, reading and literacy, and is supported by individual donors as well as large organizations such as the Gates Foundation and Amazon's Jeff Bezos. (We're told Amazon does also sell books.)
