The Golden State Warriors’ new home in San Francisco could break ground soon. The City of San Francisco approved a permit last week for temporary shoring and excavation to prepare for future work at 300 16th St.

Earlier this year, four permits were filed to construct an entry gate house, an 11-story office, an auditorium, a garage, an office, a gym, and restaurant and retail, but those are awaiting approval. All five permits are valued at over $740M, according to BuildZoom.

GSW Arena LLC also hired ICON Venue Group earlier this month to represent the stadium owners and oversee the development, design and construction of Chase Center. The 18,000-seat arena is expected to open for the 2019-2020 NBA season.

Earlier this year, a legal challenge over the stadium's construction was defeated.
