San Marcos, CA-based Hunter Industries paid $1.8M for a 2.59-acre vacant site on Opal Street in north San Diego County’s La Costa Meadows. The company plans to build a 48k SF manufacturing facility there. The family-owned Hunter Industries is a global leader in the production of irrigation systems for residential and commercial uses, landscape lighting and custom manufacturing products. It does business in 125 countries.

Lee & Associates North San Diego principal Marko Dragovic says this was an ideal opportunity for Hunter Industries, which is expanding due to growth. ”The property’s zoning for light industrial usage and prime location, near the intersection of Melrose Drive and Diamond Street, are an excellent fit for a new manufacturing facility. Hunter Industries presented the seller with an all-cash offer, and we were able to close escrow on the property after only 90 days."

Marko, along with Lee & Associates principals Al ApuzzoIsaac Little and Matt Weaver, repped the buyer. The SD office of Kidder Matthews repped the seller, a private trust.
