Hotel Planned For United Way Property

SERA Architects and Mortenson have gone before the Design Commission with plans for a 15-story hotel on part of a site owned by the United Way of Columbia-Willamette at Southwest 11th Avenue and Southwest Alder Street. The development is planned for the northern portion of the site, which the nonprofit put on the market in 2015 and which it is now in the process of selling.

The United Way will retain the south quarter-block of the site, where its HQ is located, reports the Portland Business Journal. The nonprofit is remodeling the space, which it intends to serve as its long-term base of operations. [PBJ]
