Scottsdale No. 3 Healthiest City In Nation

Scottsdale is the No. 3 healthiest place out of the 150 largest U.S. cities, in a WalletHub report that aims to quantify that somewhat vague concept. But it is an important concept for economic and real estate growth. Places that are known to be healthy tend to attract young talent.

To determine places that prioritize residents’ well-being, WalletHub compared cities across 34 key indicators of good health. Its data set includes “cost of doctor visit,” “fruit and vegetable consumption” and “fitness clubs per capita.”

San Francisco turned out to be the healthiest city, followed by Salt Lake City. Scottsdale bested both Seattle and Portland, Ore., which came next on the ranking. The least healthy city? Detroit.
