New Hospital Planned For North Phoenix

Placeholder

HonorHealth acquired a 60-acre site for more than $30M along I-17 in far north Phoenix where it plans to build a 300-bed hospital. The site of the future facility is near an existing, stand-alone emergency department, HonorHealth’s Sonoran Health and Emergency Center at 33423 North 32nd Ave. With the land bought from Westcor, HonorHealth now controls 85 acres, and plans to begin building an acute-care hospital there in the next two years, the Arizona Republic reports.

The project will be the first new acute-care hospital developed by HonorHealth, which was created by the 2013 merger of Scottsdale Healthcare and John C. Lincoln Health Network. Mostly the new company has been focusing on new outpatient centers providing primary care. For instance, in November, HonorHealth opened a 25k SF facility at 10230 West Happy Valley Pkwy in Peoria.
