READING VIADUCT GEARING UP
Yesterday, we spoke to Reading Viaduct Project board member (and accomplished furniture maker) John Struble, who tells us construction and bid documents will be ready by the end of the year for the creation of what could be the park's first phase—the SEPTA spur. (Funding will come in the form of a grant from the city's Department of Commerce.) As for the much larger portion of the Reading Viaduct, which is known as the Ninth Street Branch, John says the city has been involved in negotiations (of some sort) with its owner for months now. Could Philly really be getting its very own mini-High Line?
