Work is now under way on the $5M renovation of the historic former fire hydrant pumping station (the 19th century version of the water cooler, where people would gather and talk about the most interesting cartoons in the paper) at the corner of Race Street and Columbus Boulevard—vintage 1903—which will be the permanent home of the Philadelphia Live Arts Festival and Philly Fringe before long. It’s a favorite Philly building of ours, and we look forward to the next step.
