Irvine Co Creating Hybrid Buildings

Hoist that powerpack! Irvine Co and Advanced Microgram Solutions launched the first fleet of Hybrid-Electric Buildings recently with the installation by crane of 16 Tesla PowerPack battery systems that weigh 4,000 pounds each at 20 Pacifica in Irvine.

For Irvine Co, this is a portfolio-wide initiative, the first phase of which will include up to 24 office buildings in Irvine. The battery systems will reduce peak demand in those buildings by 25% and provide up to 10 megawatts of reserve capacity.
