The month-long Food From the Bar campaign has spawned regattas and brought back former governors. One of 35 law firms participating this year, Akin Gump has raised more than $28k in donations for the Capital Area Food Bank and donated almost 5,000 food items. Here's a shot of the Akin Gump volunteer team after packing more than 2,200 "weekend bags" for youth in need.
This is just some of the food stacked in Akin Gump's DC office, surrounding legal secretary Laura Dunning, DC partner-in-charge Tony Pierce, partner Martie Kendrick, associate Scott Johnson, and special assistant to the firm chair Maggie Sinnott. The firm's donation combines contributions from individuals, the firm and a partnership with Pizza Studio.
