Up to 500 Units Planned Near West Hyattsville Metro

West Hyattsville Property has presented a general plan for a major residential project near the West Hyattsville Metro Station that calls for up to 500 residential units, a mix of apartments and townhomes.

In September, the developer purchased 18.5 acres between the Metro station and Kirkwood Apartments at 5620 Ager Rd for over $7M, Hyattsville Life & Times reports. The development team hopes to submit plans to the county by the end of the year and receive approval by Q3 2016.

The project at 5620 Ager Rd is the latest in a long line of future development in the area that's planned near a Metro station. A recent report from the Washington DC Economic Partnership indicates that 78% of development either under construction or in the pipeline is within a half-mile of a Metro station[HLT]
