Energy software company Opower has decided to remain in Arlington’s Courthouse neighborhood while it weighs future options for relocating its HQ.
Opower has extended its lease at Courthouse Tower, located at 1515 N Courthouse Road, through May 2018, the Washington Business Journal reports. The lease was set to expire in November, and Opower was considering other locations before agreeing to an extension with MEPT Courthouse Tower LLC.
The company occupies only 42k SF at Courthouse Tower, but is a highly sought-after company in the tech sector. Opower raised more than $100M through an IPO in 2014 and recently surpassed 500 billion meter reads for its utility customers.
The heavily courted company received feelers from landlords and economic development officials across the region. Among the new locations that Opower considered were Douglas Development’s Uline Arena and The Wharf. [WBJ]
