Despite another delay in the Purple Line's construction, Landmark Realty is moving forward with plans for a multifamily development along the future light rail in Chevy Chase.

The developer is planning two 50-foot-tall apartment buildings, totaling between 100 and 125 units, Bethesda Magazine reports. Landmark owns the site, above, which is home to the Newdale Mews Apartments—five, three-story buildings with 41 total units.

At 3929 Newdale Road, the site sits just north of the Purple Line's future path. According to the county's 2013 Chevy Chase Sector Plan, the developer must wait until the Purple Line begins construction to break ground on the project.

Just across the street, Bozzuto is partnering with the Chevy Chase Land Co to tear down the supermarket and build a three-building, 283-unit mixed-use development. [BETH]
