A new developer appears to have revived plans shelved two years ago to convert a Rosslyn office building into apartments.

Jefferson Apartment Group filed plans with Arlington County to replace the RCA building at 1901 North Moore St. with a 26-story multifamily tower, UrbanTurf reports.

Weissberg Corp. had previously been planning to redevelop the RCA building into a residential tower, but it put its plans on hold in June 2018. Weissberg still owns the building, according to property records, but UrbanTurf reported JAG is under contract to purchase it. A JAG spokesperson didn't immediately return a request for comment.

The 12-story office building, constructed in 1969, sits about one block from the Rosslyn Metro station and the recently developed Central Place and 1812 North Moore office towers.

The new plans from JAG call for a 26-story mixed-use building with 423 multifamily units and 11K SF of retail. The project would include 274 vehicular parking spaces and 169 bicycle spaces. The developer is working with Shalom Baranes Associates as the architect.

The project is the latest in a series of planned D.C.-area developments for McLean-based Jefferson Apartment Group. The developer is working on a 132-unit project on the U Street Corridor and a 330-unit project in Ballston. It also acquired a site near Nationals Park last month, where it plans a 320-unit project.
