The Wharf, the $2B waterfront project from Madison Marquette and PN Hoffman, has attracted a slew of the District’s top restaurateurs, and we can add another pair to the list.
Veteran restaurateurs Fabio and Maria Trabocchi, the team behind Fiola Mare in Georgetown and Casa Luca on New York Ave NW, have plans for their largest project to date. The Trabocchis are planning to debut Del Mar, a two-story, 11,500 SF Spanish seafood restaurant called Del Mar at The Wharf, the Washingtonian reports.
Plans are in the early stages, but the restaurant is expected to include 1,900 SF of outdoor seating, including an open patio, waterside cabanas and an enclosed veranda on the sidewalk. The menu is slated to focus on paellas, tapas and seasonal dishes, with the same fare served on both floors. The upper floor could be reserved for private event space, and will be fully outfitted with its own open kitchen, wine cellar and bar.
Del Mar is expected to debut in October 2017. Phase 1 of The Wharf is scheduled to deliver in 2017, and will include offices, hotels, residential and a 6,000-seat concert venue. [Wash]
