The Shooshan Co and Brandywine Realty Trust have amended the plans for the final portion of the Liberty Center development at 4040 Wilson Blvd in Ballston.
The companies are now planning a vertically mixed-use building that will span 22 stories, making it the tallest building in Ballston and the first of its kind in Arlington County. Plans call for the first two floors to be comprised of 34k SF of retail, followed by 190k SF of office space for the next eight floors.
The building will be topped off with 245 residential units spread across the top 12 floors. Both the office and residential portions will be outfitted with separate roof terraces to provide some outstanding views of the District.
This will be the final phase of Liberty Center, a 2.25M SF, LEED Gold-certified community that has helped to reinvent the City of Ballston. Liberty Center is just steps away from the Ballston Metro station, and is home to three Mike Isabella-owned restaurants, plus HQs for the Office of Naval Research and DARPA (the military agency that invented the Internet).
