On Wednesday Grosvenor Americas and McCaffrey Interests picked up some permits for two buildings that will become about two-thirds of the Ballpark Square project (pictured) on the Capitol Riverfront. 1277 First St SE will be a 13-story, 326-unit apartment building with 26.5k SF of ground-floor retail, the Washington Business Journal reports. The second building, at 1233 First St SE, will be a 12-story, 127.2k SF "core and shell" meant for a 170-key hotel, but plans could change. Permits were issued last week for a two-story, 7.6k SF stand-alone retail building, and a final 235k SF office development from Skanska has yet to be permitted. [WBJ]
