North Carolina-based Capital Associates has been trying for years to rezone a 60-acre Loudoun County office park to allow for residential, and now it's finally succeeded.
The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors last week voted 7-1-1 to allow mixed-use development on the site, the Washington Business Journal reports.
Lexington 7, shown on the map above, was formerly known as the Potomac Farms Business Park and was zoned in 1986 as a research and office park.
The approved changes would include 113 age-restricted single-family homes, a 125-unit continuing care facility, and 200k SF of office and retail.
The site is across Route 7 from the One Loudoun development, where Miller & Smith has already delivered 400 residential units and has plans for 1,040 more. It will also include 2.7M SF of office and 400k SF of retail at full build-out. [WBJ]
