Fairfax County Circuit Judge David Schell has ordered NoVa developer H. Christopher Antigone be removed from the partnerships backing International City, a conceptual development near the planned Loudoun Gateway Metro station.
Antigone has led the partnership for decades, but has also found himself as the defendant in consolidated lawsuits from partners Dulles Gateway Associates and Tab I Associates. Among the issues presented were Antigone’s spending hundreds of thousands of dollars without approval, obligating the companies without approval, and a failure to keep an operating budget, the Washington Business Journal reports.
The judge also rejected a motion to stay the decision pending appeal by Antigone, who has denied the charges. There are several family ties within the partnership, including Antigone’s brother-in-law and sister-in-law.
Chris, whom we snapped in 2013 at one of our finance events, denies any wrongdoing and told the WBJ he plans to vigorously appeal.
International City is among the largest single development proposals in the DC region. The conceptual 14M SF development would be on roughly 279 acres north of Dulles International Airport. As envisioned, the development would include a major convention center, an entertainment district, over 4,000 hotel rooms, trophy office towers and cultural amenities. [WBJ]
