Developers EYA and Bernstein Management Corp., in their bid to develop a parking lot next to a historic market building in Chevy Chase, are pitching adding more than 2 acres of green space.

In a new application with the Town of Chevy Chase, the developers have pitched a new apartment and retail building to cover the site of the Farm Women's Market surface parking lot, next to an already-proposed, 175-foot-tall tower, Bethesda Magazine reports. The proposed tower's site was home to the Villain & Saint restaurant.

In all, the project could include 325 apartment units, 18 townhouses and 30K SF of retail, although the designs are preliminary, the developers told a local community meeting. In all, the site would include more than 4 acres of parkland, including the 2.6 acres of new green space that the developers would add to the site, according to the application.
