A medical office building project sitting next to a hospital that opened last year in Silver Spring has landed a new tenant.

Seavest Healthcare Properties announced Wednesday it signed a 23,500 SF lease with Maryland Oncology Hematology at the newly delivered Medical Pavilion at White Oak.

The tenant, part of the U.S. Oncology Network, participates in clinical trials to develop cancer therapies that have been approved by the Food and Drug Administration. The medical office project is part of the new White Oak Cancer Center.

The seven-story, 169K SF medical office building was developed in partnership with Trammell Crow. It sits on the campus of the Adventist Healthcare White Oak Medical Center, a $400M, 180-room hospital that opened in August 2019. The hospital replaced the Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park.

The project sits roughly 3 miles from the headquarters of the Food and Drug Administration. It is also near Viva White Oak, a 300-acre site planned for 12M SF of mixed-use development.

"Our team is very proud to have Maryland Oncology Hematology as an integral part of our building," Seavest Senior Vice President Malika Basheer said in a release. "We are honored that they have chosen the Medical Pavilion as their new location to practice in a collaborative, multispecialty healthcare environment."
