Furniture manufacturer La-Z-Boy is moving its regional distribution and logistics operation from Anne Arundel County to Prince George's County.

The company signed a 220,800 SF lease to occupy the full building at 16101 Queen's Court Road in Bowie, part of the Collington Park business community that sits along U.S. 301.

MRP Industrial and AEW Capital Management own the building, which has 32-foot ceiling heights and 40 dock doors. The JV developed the building speculatively on a 13-acre site in MRP's Collington Park, part of the 3.2M SF Collington Trade Center. Collington Park also includes a 175K SF FedEx Ground package and sorting facility and two future development parcels that are planned for a 90K SF flex/R&D building and a 25K SF commercial building.

La-Z-Boy operates five manufacturing plants and six regional distribution centers across the U.S. to service its more than 350 stores. The Bowie location will include manufacturing, delivery and repair services.

“Major national companies continue to recognize the significant economic and logistics benefits to establish or expand large-scale industrial and warehouse requirements within Prince George’s County, and this long-term lease demonstrates the latest example of this ongoing trend,” MRP Industrial co-founder Reid Townsend said in a release.
