Former Kane Co Warehouse In Lanham Hits The Market

The Kane Co, one of the DC area's largest moving companies, filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy last month, and now its real estate is coming onto the market.

The HQ of Kane's Office Movers Inc, a 99k SF warehouse in Lanham, is now available for sale or lease. The owner, Perseus Realty, has tapped Transwestern executive managing director Gerry Trainor and senior managing director Mark Glagola to handle the listing. The brokers are calling for offers to buy the property on Thursday.

“As part of bankruptcy proceedings, JK Moving Services will take over the warehouse on a short-term basis to remove items stored there for former Kane Company clients, but this has no impact whatsoever on the property’s availability,” Glagola said in a release.

The property at 10100 Willowdale Road in Lanham sits about two miles from where U.S. 50 intersects the Beltway. Transwestern says its 38-foot ceilings make it the only warehouse available in the DC Metro area higher than 36 feet.
