After opening its first DC hotel in the Old Post Office building in September, The Trump Organization may be coming back for more.

President Donald Trump's company, now run by his sons, has been talking with local hotel owners about converting a midsize boutique hotel into the company's new Scion brand, The Washington Post reports.

Company representatives have toured Foxhall Partners' Kimpton Glover Park Hotel, which just reopened last summer with the new branding, and its Carlyle Hotel in Dupont Circle. The Trump Organization also inquired about Foxhall's Line DC hotel in Adams Morgan, which is set to open this spring. A Trump Organization executive also reportedly toured the Beacon Hotel at 1615 Rhode Island Ave. NW.

The hotel owners would retain ownership of the hotel under a potential deal and license the brand and management of the property to the Trump Organization. The hotel would be converted to the company's new Scion brand, a less expensive model than Trump's flagship, with a more informal style.

Even without the Trump name on the front, a new DC hotel opened by the company would create more conflict-of-interest concerns as the Pennsylvania Avenue hotel continues to take heat from ethics watchdogs and congressional Democrats.

The General Services Administratioin, the federal government's real estate arm, last week ruled the hotel did not violate the Trump Organization's lease, which states that no elected official can benefit from the deal.
