Amazon officials spent last week touring sites in the D.C. region and meeting with local leaders as it considers the area for its second headquarters.

The officials toured sites in Northern Virginia early in the week, D.C. in the middle of the week and Montgomery County at the end of the week, the Washington Post reports.

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam had breakfast with Amazon officials Wednesday morning. Economic development officials toured the company's representatives through the sites the commonwealth proposed, including Crystal City, Rosslyn, Alexandria and the Center for Innovative Technology campus in Herndon.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser dined with Amazon officials Wednesday night. The District proposed four sites in NoMa, Shaw, Hill East and along the Anacostia River.

Amazon is considering the former White Flint Mall site in Montgomery County, the Post reports. The Maryland General Assembly is considering Gov. Larry Hogan's proposal to offer Amazon a $5B incentive package to come to the state.

The three jurisdictions are among 20 finalists Amazon chose to move onto the next round in its selection process, which it has said would conclude by the end of the year. The winner will be the beneficiary of a $5B investment that will bring 50,000 jobs and fill 8M SF of office space.

Multiple analysts have recently predicted that Amazon would land in D.C., where CEO Jeff Bezos owns a $23M house and the city's major daily newspaper. Web traffic from Amazon employees recently revealed an interest in Arlington County, with thousands of employees viewing an article about its environmentally friendly buildings two months after it was published.
