Reston's Next Mixed-Use Project?

Reston residents who are wondering about the future of the nearly vacant Tall Oaks Village Center will have two opportunities to satisfy their curiosity this month. The Jefferson Apartment Group, the parent company of Tall Oaks Development Group, which purchased the center for $14.3M in December, will hold two meetings on April 23 and 27 at Reston Association HQ to present a conceptual plan for redevelopment. Tall Oaks could become a mixed-use residential and commercial project, Reston Now reports. A residential plan will likely require rezoning and board approvals, since Tall Oaks is zoned industrial/commercial. The fate of Tall Oaks has been a topic of discussion for quite some time. The center's anchor space has been empty for more than four years; its stand-alone former Burger King space vacant for nearly a decade.
