George Mason Wins NAIOP Real Estate Competition

Our sponsor, George Mason University, was awarded first place in the 2013 Capital Challenge Intercollegiate Real Estate Case Competition sponsored by NAIOPs Maryland/DC Chapter.The George Mason team created a mixed-use development plan for WC Smiths Capital Riverfront site that earned them the top prize versus the best and brightest from the masters in real estate programs at Johns Hopkins, Georgetown, and Maryland. In addition to bragging rights and a trophy, George Mason's Masters in Real Estate Developmentprogram received a $10k award.George Masons team included Alexandra Bettius, Malcolm Van De Riet, Roger Lin, Parks Underdown, Ken Jonmarie, Erik Taylor, and John Zemlan, who created a powerhouse team with backgrounds in finance, law, development, project management, and architecture.
