Local universities aren't just molding young minds; they're real estate powerhouses. (Perhaps frat houses will become mixed-use developments.) The savvy dealmaking of DC's higher ed groups is one of the reasons we're excited to host our annual Eds and Meds event on Oct. 27 at the DC Renaissance starting at 7:30 AM.

Gallaudet University campus architect Hansel Bauman is among our speakers; he'll talk about the partnership announced Friday with JBG to develop several parcels the school owns on 6th Street NE. Partnering up with developers is all the rage, as George Washington and Catholic U have both recently entered into high-profile development deals.
