'Fitbit' Building Startup Plans Big Expansion

DC startup Aquicore, founded by CEO Logan Soya in 2013 to help commercial property managers and landlords save money on energy costs by providing real time data and info, just opened its new office at 1015 ½ 7th St NW, and is in the process of doubling its staff of 23, reports DC Inno. The hiring spree already includes some impressive recruits, like HelloWallet co-founder Revell Horsey and former Bloomberg BNA Legal president Dmitri Mehlhorn. The software and hardware company's also launching an upgrade of one of its two products, the AQ-Tenant Module, at the beginning of Q2. Aquicore has raised $1.6M and is in active negotiations with prospective investors.
