Brett runs Winn Cos.’ Mid-Atlantic office, which focuses on development projects from New Jersey to Virginia. The company targets Class-B/C value-add properties and can run the gamut from '80s-era garden-style walk-ups to high-rises, affordable and market rate. Brett, a Long Island native and married father of a 2-year-old son, is overseeing a project in Columbia Heights, redeveloping 150 historic Section 8 senior housing units and bringing in new ground-floor retail. Tenants were involved in the design and the company will keep it affordable. Brett says he’s proud of having opened Winn’s Mid-Atlantic office in 2012 and can now say it has over 1,700 units in its pipeline. Best lesson: A positive perspective is contagious and will bring results.
