Big Leagues for Walker Dunlop

Being on the court with the Celtics and Bucks at Boston’s TD Garden with son Charlie recently is symbolic of the levels at which Walker & Dunlop’s Willy Walker is playing these days. It has not escaped our attention that the firm did its biggest deal ever this month—and one of Freddie Mac’s as well: a $670M financing for New Seniors REIT (created by Fortress—a W&D shareholder the firm recently bought out), to underwrite 52 properties including 17 that were newly acquired. And it did so in 41 days, an astonishing speed. Congrats to Willy and his team, including loan originators Russell Dey and Laura Beaton. And good luck making lots more three-pointers.
