No, this isn't a new pool being built downtown--it's Akridge/Mitsui Fudosan's 1200 17th St project yesterday, which fell victim to a water main break over the weekend. Akridge's Mike Gill tells us by 8:00am Saturday, water had built up to only five feet from the top of the site. The main was fixed, however, and construction workers spent the next few days pumping water out, Mike says. The site has been fully drained, and there wasn't significant damage, except for some construction equipment. And likewise, he says, there wasn't much damage to the construction schedule either.
