Real Estate Goes on Vacation (Part Deux)

Aside from making us insanely jealous, we're impressed with the cool trips you loyal readers took this summer. We told you about some of them last week, but since we got so many great pictures, let's show some more.

To celebrate his twentieth wedding anniversary, ARA land expert Mark Anstine took his family on a European vacation earlier in the summer, including jaunts to London, Paris, Greece, Croatia, and Italy. Here's Mark's daughter Wysh waving the stars-and-stripes in Venice during the World Cup—Mark says the tourist boat he was on there broke out a massive USA chant while a passing boat cheered for Brazil.

A few weeks ago, EastBanc director of leasing Jennifer Crane visited San Francisco with friend Britt Cambas of Carlyle Group. Jennifer says EastBanc is getting ready to deliver 1055 High St, a seven-unit condo building in Georgetown that's already sold out. Jennifer says EastBanc is actively looking for tenants for two small retail spaces on 1055 High's ground floor.

BBS&G real estate lawyer Wendy Pullano took this while visiting Niagara Falls with husband Rick Pullano of the FINRA.

With their trusty laptop at their side, Nicholas Papadopoulos and John Gogos of Papadopoulos Properties were able to sneak in a little work overlooking the Aegean Sea in Paros, Greece, right before heading to the island of Myknonos. Nicholas just repped grilled cheese gurus Melt Shop in their lease at 1901 L St in downtown DC.

Taking a break from handling the Hampden Row condos in Bethesda and the River Parc apartments in Capitol Riverfront, Toll Brothers' Stephen Alfandre (middle) did some mountain biking with his brothers in Lake Placid, NY.

MEC Realty Associates chief Mark Cummings visited the Tesla factory in Fremont, CA with friend and client George Gonzalez of Blue Tether. Mark reports the factory is huge—over 5M SF—and that it's so big, most employees have to get around inside on a bicycle. He also says Tesla bought the facility from Toyota for $44M (a small price for a site that big), and that it's now valued north of $500M.

Newmark Grubb Knight Frank retail broker Matthew Cooper, who has worked many deals in the DC and Baltimore regions, has recently relocated to Philadelphia. The displaced O's fan sends us this shot from Citizens Bank Park, and is admittedly still adjusting to life in the NL. "I can't get into the National League—they let pitchers bat here."
