The Vegas-inspired, 23,000-bulb sign from Honest Ed’s — one of Toronto's brightest and most iconic attractions — will be saved and moved to the Ed Mirvish Theatre, where it will be installed on the Victoria Street frontage, David Mirvish announced Wednesday. His father's legendary store closed last December; it will be replaced by a mixed-use development, Mirvish Village, led by Westbank. After being removed, the 30-foot-tall by 60-foot-wide Honest Ed’s sign will be stored in a warehouse until it is ready to be reinstalled. Mirvish said his father would be delighted to see his great passions, Honest Ed’s and the theatre world, finally joined together.
