RioCan Pledges $25k For Fort McMurray Relief Efforts

RioCan, Canada’s largest REIT, is committing $25k to the Canadian Red Cross to aid relief efforts for victims of the Fort McMurray wildfire. "As a proud member of the community, our hearts go out to all those affected," CEO Edward Sonshine said, noting the trust is committed to supporting "long-term strategies to rebuild Fort McMurray." Alberta is a key market for RioCan, whose portfolio of 8.7M SF across 34 properties in Wild Rose Country includes a mixed-use centre in Fort McMurray. The trust also has four projects under development in Alberta.
