SIOR Awards to Recognize Top Brokers

SIOR's Broker of the Year Awards and Presidents Dinner (Dec. 11 at the Palais Royale) is fast approaching. SIOR incoming prez, Avison Young's Joe Almeida (second from left with members of the exec committee) tells us that those nominated for the award (split into industrial and office) aren't based solely on monetary success; the award recognizes factors like quality of work and creativity that goes into doing difficult deals. It also recognizes other accomplishments, like community work. Next year, SIOR hopes to introduce an award for young brokers. (Though Jennifer Lawrence will probably figure out how to win that one too.)
