Downtown Home for Nordstrom?

Sears must vacate its Eaton Centre location, as well as its location at Sherway Gardens and a store in London, by Feb. 28 of next year, with the announced sale last week of their leases in those locations (meaning the holiday rush period takes on a whole other meaning). One storyline to keep an eye on is whether Nordstrom will grab the prime Eaton Centre store location, owned by Cadillac Fairview. "We've talked all along about the fact we'd love to be downtown," a Nordstrom spokesperson tells Bisnow. Nordstrom is opening five department stores in Canada, including locations in Sherway Gardens (pictured) and Yorkdale Shopping Centre, both in 2016.
